Indexing 101

Recap of Office Hours: Indexing 101 on 9/26/24

Indexing is vital for the success of your website because it is a sync between your e-Commerce platform (i.e. Shopify, Big Commerce, MIVA, Custom, etc..) and Searchspring.

As Searchspring powers your listing pages, an index must be completed before any new product updates are shown on the front end. This means when changing the date, inventory, price, name, promotional message, tag, metafield to a product, or upon creating a category/collection; an index must be completed before those updates are displayed.

For more information regarding indexing basics, please note the following Indexing 101 article.

If you experience a stalled index, start by triggering a manual index. If the index is broken, then please submit a support ticket through the console so that a Support Engineer can help resolve the issue. Please note it will show products based on the last successful index until the index can complete again.

Instructions for submitting a support ticket.

Your automatic indexing cadence is determined by the plan you are on, and please reach out to your CSM or the Digital Experience directly to confirm your index is repeating at the correct interval.
